Logan Walters is a performance therapist at Rokke Performance Therapy, a die-hard Eagles fan, father, husband, and a great human being. He specializes in ACL rehab & return to performance which is one of the main themes of this episode. As well as, how he specifically created his niche in this area.
Logan's journey into performance therapy began when he suffered a pair of ACL injuries while playing basketball in college. This experience motivated him to help other athletes optimize their performance during the recovery process and in life. He received his Doctorate of Physical Therapy in 2016 from Lebanon Valley College and completed a Sports Residency program at Mansfield University in 2019. It is amazing to see the ripple effect of his impact & expertise in the Portland area.
I am extremely grateful that I had the opportunity to showcase his story and sit down with him for this conversation. If you enjoyed this episode please, share it with someone who means a lot to you or via social media and rate it on the podcast platform you are using. Noah Cracknell, is a writer of The Daily Preneur, a no-BS blog about entrepreneurship, economics, and life. Also, one of my former student-athletes a the University of Portland & previous guests on the podcast! In this episode we get into Noah graduating from Arizona State, moving to New York City, and starting graduate school in economics.
I really look up to Noah in the way that he has grown as a writer. He is not afraid to be vulnerable and share his own journey, as well as his three pillars for creating impactful writing. My favorite part is his story of evolving from Noah Cracknell 1.0 to the 2.0 version of himself.
If you love this episode, it would mean a lot for you to share it on social media, with someone you think would connect with this conversation, leave a review for the podcast, and subscribe to my weekly newsletter for more information on the podcast!

Caroline Austin is today’s guest on The Bryant Ferate Podcast. I loved this episode and this conversation. One of those conversations you have with an amazing friend where you lose track of time.
Caroline and I became friends in college when we coached together at Washington State University. Go Cougs! Caroline is so aware and impresses me every day with who she is and who she is becoming. Through her work as a professional runner and coach, Austin is changing the way we think about sports and what it means to be strong & confident in today's world.
Caroline competes professionally in the steeple chase & the marathon for Idaho Afoot. Most recently competing in the US Olympic Trials in 2019 for the marathon & in 2021 in the steeple chase. On top of competing she coaches high school athletes, recently started working at On, and most recently got married. In the front half of the conversation, we go in on running and her experience. Halfway through we transition the conversation more towards being the best version of ourselves. Caroline closes it out with a bang so make sure you check out the last 10 minutes.

Zach Rockford is today's guest on the podcast. Most recently Rock took over as the new Director of Athletic Performance for the University of Montana Grizzlies and is the co-founder of High-Performance Headquarters. Which is an online coaching resource for training and coach education. Zach has also coached at Southern Illinois-Edwardsville, Incarnate Word, Arizona, and TCU.
This episode is awesome because we get into how Rockford thinks and how that applies to performance coaching and life. As well as, one of the best podcast episodes we both listened to back in 2016-2017 by Pete Carroll. I hope you enjoy this conversation with my amazing friend Zach Rockford.

Kevin Dailly is today's guest for this in-person conversation. Creator, an artist, and most recently, dropped his debut album All Things Considered under the name KEVY. Link in the show notes to find his album on Spotify. Kevin and I went to high school together and recently reconnected over the creation of this podcast. Big shout out to Kevin for the consistent love and for always tapping into the episodes.
This is an awesome conversation that I was grateful to record right before Kevin dropped his album. He made the trip down to Portland to record in person and we got to go deep into some cool topics. What I enjoyed the most was discussing our most formative years and how that tied into us both loving the book, Atomic Habits by James Clear. As well as, identity change being a consistent theme throughout this hour and half.

Today’s guest is Logan Emory. Current Assistant Coach For UP Women’s Soccer at the University of Portland and is a Pilot Alum competing on the Men’s Soccer team during his college career. Logan played professionally with Toronto FC and the Puerto Rico Islanders.
Born and raised in Boise, Idaho Logan brings it in this episode. Diving into the lessons that he learned from his journey from high school, college, professional, and then back into coaching at high level. Communication, connection, and understanding are themes in this conversation from the perspective of our parents, family, coaching athletes, and in life with ourselves.
Two topics I really enjoyed were his story about getting to know his grandfather and towards the end podcast unpacking the label “grinder” in sports.
Appreciate you all and can’t say thanks enough to the people who have reached out to me about what they have enjoyed. It pushes me to keep going.

Welcome back to The Bryant Ferate Podcast. Fired up for you to be here and check out this episode with Dave Houglum.
He is an absolute legend and the tables are turned today because I get to ask Dave questions and let him go off on his passion for leadership. Dave is my leadership coach, so it was fun to connect with him outside of our typical coaching sessions in this podcast space.
Dave is the Director of Leadership & Leadership Professor of Practice at the University of Portland. He has coached for +17 years, earned his master's and Ph.D. from Gonzaga University, and traveled internationally for leadership coaching opportunities.
This episode is big time if you are interested in being a great leader to impact and serve others and, most importantly, lead yourself! I love when Dave went in on listening and awareness as a leader. He is elite at asking “lofty” questions!
Dave has had a huge impact on my development as a leader, and coach, and on me being the best version of myself. This was a surreal moment to share this podcast moment with him. So excited to share with you all the legend, my coach, Dave Houglum.
