Episode 4's guest is Nick Finney, a great friend, and training partner at Renzo Gracie Jiu Jitsu Portland. We dive into his journey as a copywriter, the influence music has on us, his experience going to Coachella 6 times, and overall how to improve at our creative crafts. Nick discusses his path through being accepted into Wieden+Kennedy ad agency school and how that helped him refine his writing over time. He shares his experience working with Kobe Bryant on his retirement project in China and rewriting a script in 45 minutes. We close out the episode on how to better understand what is “good writing” for you vs. the readers, measuring progress in writing, and working through believing in yourself. Check out his website where he shares more about who he is and the projects he has worked on.

I had the opportunity to coach Nick Hauger during his collegiate running career and coach alongside him when he joined the University of Portland for Sports Performance Staff. Ever since I first met Nick he has had a presence and clarity that I have always appreciated. It has shown through his journey in being an amazing human being, accomplished collegiate distance runner, and now running professionally with NAZ Elite (Podcast Host too). Today we dive into how Nick wires his mind for positivity, how he has grown from obstacles, and what he has learned from hosting his own podcast.

Matt is one of the most present and intentional action takers I have ever met. Today’s episode we dive into many different topics revolving around the big picture of who are we becoming, what kind of life do we want to live, and being the best version of ourselves. Matt’s background is a phenomenal one, going from running collegiately (Minnesota and Portland), running professionally, riding his bike from Portland Oregon to Portland Maine and then back, writer, professional coaching, coaching track, and defining RunTheProcess by how he chooses to live his life.
